Bárbara assumes as the new Technical Coordinator of the Marine Research and Innovation Center.

A new work year begins for the Marine Research and Innovation Center (MERIC), and it brings good news. On Wednesday, February 1, the executive management of MERIC announced the incorporation of Bárbara Parragué as the new Technical Coordinator of our center of excellence.

“I always wanted to work in renewable energies or renewable resources, but I decided to work in the mining industry because I thought it was interesting and important to learn how copper concentrate is obtained and produced, an important topic for Chile. After learning about this subject for some years, I decided to look for new horizons in an area that I consider even more attractive for the development of my career” said Barbara at her arrival.

“I have always loved nature, particularly the sea. So, I think of my arrival at MERIC as a new professional beginning, which I hope will allow me to deepen my knowledge about marine energies and contribute to their development in Chile”, complements the new Technical Coordinator of MERIC.

Bárbara Parragué G. is a (Civil) Chemical Engineer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV), where she graduated in 2013. From that moment on she worked in several companies related to mining; CAP Mining, Minera Andes Iron and CODELCO El Teniente Division. The MERIC team welcomes its new member and wishes her the greatest success in her new work as Technical Coordinator.
