Resource Assessment and Site Characterization

Description

Evaluation and assessment of tidal current and wave energy resources, through field measurements, experimental laboratory studies and advanced computer models for multiple scales. Research of natural processes in the ocean allows to evaluate the available energy at each specific site. On the other hand, models enable to study different scenarios associated with optimal installation of power generation devices, while also understanding their impact on the local environment.

Overall Objetive

To provide a comprehensive scientific framework to evaluate the potential of tidal current and wave energy, while also developing advanced tools to integrate technological, physical and environmental analysis of the energy extraction devices installation and impact factors.
